Have you seen the new McCrite Plaza commercial? As of today, nearly 28,000 people have viewed it on Facebook, and millions will see it when it airs on television this fall.
In this ad, our founder and former football standout (Washburn University, Topeka Kan.) Pat McCrite enthusiastically proclaims McCrite as the “only retirement community with a full-contact football team.”
Pat came up with the idea for this commercial as a tongue-in-cheek means to demonstrate that McCrite Plaza is not your typical retirement community. Our emphasis on activity, wellness and social engagement is the foundation of living a happy, engaged life. Even if hips, knees and shoulders are no longer capable of taking the competitive field, our residents are keen on having fun and staying physically active with daily exercise classes, yoga, recumbent bicycles, treadmills, strength training and walking clubs.
Pat filled his faux roster with eight residents of our Topeka community, including a retired high school psychologist who coached football, a former quarterback or Eskridge High School, and enthusiastic players whose experience was limited to watching games on TV. Due to their popularity, the McCrite men now have a busy schedule of public appearances and autograph-signing sessions. Tis the price of fame.
Though McCrite Plaza doesn’t REALLY have a competitive football team, the commercial truthfully advertised we do have beer. We focus on physical activity and wellness. And we have lots of fun.
The commercial was filmed by MotoVike Films, an entity of Bajillion Advertising, a full-service marketing firm based in Topeka.
