McCrite Senior Living Baseball Team

Meet the baseball team

McCrite Plaza is dedicated to providing high quality rehabilitation services in a comfortable environment to ensure you return safe at home. Injuries can’t keep our players out for long. And with our skilled rehabilitation team on your side, we build your strength and get you back to normal in a comfortable environment.

Now that you’ve seen our baseball team in action, let’s meet some of the players!

Duane Zerger

Duane plays the role of the injured baseball player who recovers with McCrite Plaza’s rehabilitation services. He has been at McCrite Plaza since fall 2017. Duane’s humor and good attitude keeps everyone around him laughing.

Duane served in the National Guard for 37 years and was inducted into the National Guard Hall of Fame in 2000. In his free time, Duane exercises, plays golf, and watches all sports.

Gary Shofner

Gary plays the trusty second baseman. He joined the McCrite Plaza community summer 2018 and is one of our most experienced baseball players. He previously played baseball with the American Legion baseball team.

Gary is a retired civil engineer who worked in Topeka nearly 40 years. In Gary’s free time, he plays cards and cheers on Kansas University. He also enjoys spending time with friends at the McCrite Plaza happy hour.

Harry TenEyck

Harry plays the outfield and barely missed the catch in the commercial. He joined McCrite Plaza in summer 2016 and has some baseball experience from high school.

He worked at Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka for 36 years as Chief Clerk of the Freight Claim Department. In addition to Harry’s baseball experience, he is the two-time champion of McCrite Plaza’s Postage Stamp Golf Tournament. When Harry isn’t golfing, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching sports.
